Federal public servants rallied on Parliament Hill on Jan. 28, as the Public Service Alliance of Canada decried deep job cuts throughout the bureaucracy. Hill Times photograph by Andrew Meade "Last week, Prime Minister Carney addressed Canada and his cabinet to share how proud he is of Canada's public services, even going as far as stating that they're inherent to Canada's values and foundation," PSAC president Sharon DeSousa told reporters. This month alone, nearly 9,000 PSAC members across departments received notices that their jobs may be at risk, she said. No one should have to live with that kind of uncertainty,” said Alex Silas, PSAC national executive vice-president, said in a news release. “These aren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet.
