Remote, Indigenous communities leading the way to net zero and Canada’s renewable energy transition
The government has created a hub to bridge multiple federal departments' operations and funding initiatives. It's a welcome shift, when historically, funding for these projects was paternalistic and hard to navigate.
Last month, Natural Resources Canada, led by Minister Jonathan Wilkinson, Indigenous Services Canada, and Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada announced an Indigenous council to guide clean energy projects.
