‘We should never underestimate China,’ say authors of The Two Michaels, Blanchfield and Hampson

Mike Blanchfield and Fen Osler Hampson say they wrote The Two Michaels in part because they 'wanted to tie together the geopolitical threads of a much larger story about Canada, the United States, China, and the future of digital technologies and the quest by great powers to control the internet.'

Co-author Mike Blanchfield, pictured. 'We wanted to shine the light on an important case of two Canadians who were arrested and imprisoned in China as time was marching on and there seemed little prospect of their being released.' The Hill Times photograph by Kate Malloy
