On April 25, Assembly of First Nations National Chief RoseAnne Archibald addressed the 21st Session of United Nations Permanent Forum at the UN headquarters in New York City and later asked that the UN begin an official investigation into Canada’s role into the Indian residential schools system and its role in violating human rights. Archibald also wants the International Criminal Court to launch an investigation. The ICC has turned down this request in the past.
