Ontario’s top court signals support for Liberals’ justice reform bill
The Liberals have pledged to re-introduce a bill to reform criminal sentencing within 100 days of Parliament’s return.
Justice Minister David Lametti sponsored the Liberal government's bill to reform criminal sentencing in the last Parliament. The Liberals have promised to reintroduce the bill when Parliament resumes. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not yet revealed who will serve as justice minister in his cabinet for the new Parliament.
