Parties ‘doing more’ to boost awareness of mental health resources, Liberals to hire HR adviser for staffers
The Conservatives have introduced mental health workshops at their semi-annual staff training conferences, and MPs are being taught to recognize the signs of poor mental health.
Open-bar receptions attended by Hill staffers and MPs take place most nights in the spring and fall when the House is sitting. In the summer, the PMO sent a survey to Liberal staffers asking, among other things, about their work-life balance, and if they agreed there’s a drinking culture on the Hill.
