Engagement in the Upper Chamber in 2017 tripled historic averages due to the Senate’s independence, openness to amendments, and numerous newly appointed unknown Senators.
The top eight most lobbied Senators in 2017 are, clockwise from top left: Liberal deputy leader Terry Mercer, government liaison Grant Mitchell, Independent Lucie Moncion, Liberal Dennis Dawson, Independent Diane Griffin, Independent Rosa Galvez, Conservative Senator David Tkachuk, and Independent René Cormier.
