U.S. soldier’s family not entitled to $134-million from Khadr
Christopher Speer’s death was tragic, but he was killed in battle; he was not murdered in his bed.
Special Forces soldier Christopher Speer is unloaded at Bagram Airfield after he was injured from a grenade thrown during a firefight in which Omar Khadr was captured in Afghanistan in 2002. Mr. Speer later died and his family is seeking compensation from Mr. Khadr. Photograph courtesy of the U.S. Department of Defense
