Nationwide news-makers: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is travelling in Quebec today for Fête nationale du Québec, or Saint-Jean Baptiste Day. At 10:30 a.m. he will attend celebrations in Boischatel, Que. at an event taking place at Centre Sportif. At 11:50 a.m., he'll be in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures for celebrations in Parc du Millénaire. At 2:20 p.m., Mr. Trudeau will be in Parc du Pont in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade for an event, and at 3:15 p.m. he will attend a gathering at Parc Terre-des-Loisirs in Trois-Rivières. Bill Morneau, minister of Finance and MP for Toronto Centre, will be at Learning Resource Commons in Etobicoke to make a public transit infrastructure announcement on behalf of Amarjeet Sohi, minister of Infrastructure and Communities. Stay on top of the world: Lieutenant-General (Retired) Andrew Leslie, parliamentary secretary to the minister of Foreign Affairs (Canada-U.S. Relations) will be in Belgrade, Serbia today to attend the inauguration of president Aleksandar Vučić. According to a government press release, Mr. Leslie will meet with President Vučić; Ana Brnabić, the prime minister-designate; and Ivica Dačić, the deputy prime minister and minister of Foreign Affairs, to discuss Canada’s bilateral relationship with Serbia. He will also be taking part in a roundtable discussion with local non-profit representatives to "discuss government transparency, media freedom and democratic governance."
