Mr. Borbey was previously the associate deputy minister of Canadian Heritage before being appointed by Mr. Trudeau. Karina Gould, minister of Democratic Institutions, will be at the library at Harbord Collegiate Institute in Toronto, where she will take part in a webcast event to provide remarks and discuss the 35th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms with students. Jane Philpott, minister of Health, will be in Markham, Ontario, where she will take part in a roundtable discussion with staff and family members of patients at the Saint Elizabeth Centre. Afterwards, she will speak about the importance of investing into home care. The event takes place at 10:45 a.m. Chrystia Freeland, minister of Foreign Affairs, will attend the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Lucca, Italy. At 7:15 a.m. (EST) she will hold a teleconference call with media to discuss the details of her trip. Conservative leadership contender Maxime Bernier will be making an announcement at the Alberta Legislature Building in Edmonton. According to a press release from his office, he will be announcing "the endorsement of several prominent Members of the Legislative Assembly of the province."
