Monday, June 15 • The House will consider Bill C-59, the Economic Action Plan 2015 Act, No. 1, at third reading. • The House Public Accounts Committee will meet in-camera to discuss information technology investments at the Canada Border Services Agency. • The Senate Human Rights Committee will meet to examine Canada’s international and national human rights obligations. • The Senate Official Languages Committee will meet to continue studying Bill S-205, an Act to amend the Official Languages Act. • The Senate National Security and Defence Committee will meet in camera to consider a draft report for their study on the medical, social, and operational impacts of mental health issues. • The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee will meet to do the clause-by-clause on Bill C-42, an Act to amend the Firearms Act and the Criminal Code and other Acts. Tuesday, June 16 • Tuesday the House will debate Bill S-7, the Zero Tolerance for Barbaric Cultural Practices Act at third reading. • The House Procedure and House Affairs Committee will meet to discuss committee business, as well as Conservative MP Brad Trost’s Motion M-431 on the election of committee chairs based on a preferential ballot system. • The House Fisheries and Oceans Committee will meet to continue its discussion on recreational fishing in Canada. • The House Official Languages Committee will meet to deal with committee business. • The House Health Committee will meet to study lung cancer in Canada. • The House Veterans Affairs Committee will meet in-camera to discuss the continuum of transition services. • The House Foreign Affairs and International Development Committee will meet in-camera to discuss the protection of youth in developing countries, as well as looking towards the next North American leaders’ summit. • The House Industry, Science and Technology Committee will meet to discuss the state of disruptive technologies. • The House Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development will meet to deal with committee business. • The Senate Transport and Communications Committee will meet to study Bill C-52, an Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act and the Railway Safety Act. It will hear witness testimony from Transport Minister Lisa Raitt, as well as other Transport Canada senior officials. • The Senate Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament Committee will meet to study Bill C-518, an Act to amend the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act (withdrawal allowance) and will hear from the Federal Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation Aaron Wudrick. Then it will deal with a case of privilege relating to leaks of the Auditor General’s report on the audit of Senators’ Expenses and will hear from Sen. Céline Hervieux-Payette. Wednesday, June 17 • The House will debate Bill S-4, the Digital Privacy Act at third reading. • The House Canadian Heritage Committee will hold a televised meeting to deal with OMNI programming changes. It will hear from Rogers Media President Keith Pelley, and Colette Watson, VP of television and operations. • The House Public Accounts Committee will meet to study access to health services for remote First Nations Communities. • The Senate Transport and Communications Committee will meet to do their clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-52, an Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act and the Railway Safety Act. It will then move to continuing the drafting of their report on challenges facing the CBC. • The Senate Social Affairs, Science and Technology Committee will meet to further study the increasing incidence of obesity in Canada. Thursday, June 18 • The House will prioritize any legislation that can be considered at report stage or third reading. • The Senate Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration Committee will meet to discuss administrative matters. • The Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs will meet, agenda to come. • The Senate Social Affairs, Science and Technology Committee will meet to hear from Statistics Canada, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Health Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada on the increasing incidence of obesity in Canada.
