‘Freedom Convoy’ a seditious campaign organized by those with more a dangerous agenda

Ultimately, the current seditious acts, and threats of violence to upend the law of the land, are assaults on the rule of law. In all of this ugly episode, the greatest failure has been to uphold the rule of law, which is the greatest protection Canadians have to live safely and without fear while enjoying their fundamental freedoms.

A 'Freedom Convoy' protester dances on the sidewalk across from the Prime Minister’s office on Feb. 10, 2022. This crusade for freedom and freedom of choice is misdirected. Freedom of choice is not a legal right. There is no freedom of choice in many areas of our daily lives because the welfare of the community comes ahead of preferences of individuals, writes David Crane. Prime Minister Mark Carney, left, with his party's sole Saskatchewan MP, Buckley Belanger, centre, and Governor General Mary Simon at Rideau Hall on May 13. The Liberals could increase their seat count in provinces like Saskatchewan if they ensure MPs are visible in their communities, writes Kelly Patrick. The Hill Times photograph by Sam Garcia

The Liberal Party must show up locally to win new seats

  • Nostalgia for 2015, 1993, and 1930, won’t win the next election. The party needs humility, and hard and patient work: person to person, policy by policy, riding by riding.
