Re: “Federal Court made the right call on West Bank wines, decision should not be appealed,” (The Hill Times, Aug. 14, p. 8). Dimitri Lascaris makes selective references to international law in his letter criticizing Israel and the federal government’s potential plans to appeal the recent court ruling on Israeli wine labelling. In his polemic, Mr. Lascaris omits critical aspects that fail to fit his worldview. (Importantly, Mr. Lascaris was condemned last year by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Conservative opposition leader Andrew Scheer, and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh for his claims that Jewish Members of Parliament Anthony Housefather and Michael Levitt have dual loyalties to Israel.)
