Recently, politicians have asked veterans the question: what do veterans want? Our reply is so simple. We want the prime minister and leaders of Canada to keep their promises. Veterans want the Government of Canada to honour our CFSA pension enrolment contract. Military and RCMP veterans want the Government of Canada to treat Canada’s veterans with the honour and dignity they have earned. Veterans want the government to take action to terminate the CPP pension clawback to our Forces’ pension at age 65 or sooner when receiving a disability pension. The CPP bridge benefit system is a joke. Veterans have fully paid for all their benefits. Veterans want the Government of Canada to stop depleting the surplus in our Forces’ pension account and pay their fair contributions share. Veterans want the government to take action to reinstate the SISIP coverage after release term insurance which is now being terminated at age 75. The Forces’ widows’ pension must be the same as politicians widows’ receive. The $10,000 supplementary death benefits must be the same as what civil servant employees receive.
