The annual Ottawa Lawn Summer Nights lawn bowling fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Canada wanted to raise $90,000, but raised $97,000 last month, says Amanda Ruddy who’s in charge of the Ottawa chapter. She said she hopes teams will still raise more until the end of August. The Lawn Summer Nights also runs teams across Canada, and three out of the top five fundraisers in the country were from Ottawa this year, including Max McGuire, Lisa Sarazin, and Greg MacEachern. The other top fundraisers were Vancouver’s Samantha Ellis and Halifax’s Alexander Drake, said Ms. Ruddy. Nationally, the Lawn Summer Nights hopes to raise $400,000 and has so far raised nearly $300,000.
