Clearly, it’s Scott Brison’s fault that Gerry Butts has resigned and the government looks like a hot mess. After all, according to the prime minister in one of his most bizarre comments in recent memory, Jody Wilson-Raybould would still have been justice minister if Brison hadn’t called time on his career. Extending that thought, there would be no questions about what was happening with SNC-Lavalin’s quest for a deferred-prosecution agreement and Butts would be well into executing the Trudeau government’s re-election plan.
