Across the country and on Parliament, there are hundreds of staffers who are critical to the work of Parliament. On the Hill, they play a key role by helping MPs perform their federal legislative duties in the House Chamber and in the Commons committees. In the constituency offices, staffers working for the 338 MPs across the country put in long hours to help constituents navigate the complex web of government departments in order to resolve issues related to Immigration, Revenue Canada, Employment and Workforce Development, and other departments. As well, the staffers prepare for and attend community events with or without their bosses and keep in regular touch with constituents. They are the eyes and ears of MPs in the riding.
