Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau will be spending the day in France as part of their trip to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge. At 9 a.m. (all times local) Mr. Trudeau will be presented with a statue by the City of Barrie at Arras City Hall. At 11:30 a.m., they will arrive in Deauville. There will be a photo opportunity before they travel to the Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer. While there, they will observe a moment of remembrance at 1:05 p.m. and will hold a media availability at 1:40 p.m. Later this afternoon, the couple will lay flowers and pay tribute at the Cross of Sacrifice in the Canadian War Cemetery at Bény-sur-Mer before heading home to Ottawa.
