Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s director of appointments Mary Ng won the Liberal nomination in Markham-Thornhill, Ont., in a controversial nomination meeting on March 4. Opponents of Ms. Ng described this as a “rigged” nomination in which senior Liberals pulled the strings behind the scenes to engineer the desired outcome. Both Ms. Ng and the Liberal Party have denied all the allegations and said the party’s rules were followed.
