A long-time friend of Senator Mike Duffy whose family-owned firms received $65,000 from Sen. Duffy’s Senate office budget to pay for contracted services on behalf of the Senator testified Wednesday the two firms kept a total of between $19,000 and $20,000 of the Senate funds. The admission leaves a further $12,000 of the money paid out for the contracting services unaccounted, according to earlier testimony from a forensic accountant who appeared as an expert witness for Crown prosecutors.
