A year ago today, the Parliamentary precinct was paralyzed as the downtown core shut down for hours after Michael Zehaf-Bibeau gunned down Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, killing him while he was standing guard at the War Memorial. Zehaf-Bibeau then drove to the Parliament buildings and stormed Centre Block where RCMP officers and then-Sgt.-at-Arms Kevin Vickers open fired in front of the Library of Parliament, killing him.
