The historic National Press Club is back, sort of. After announcing recently that the 80-year-old club was in financial trouble and the subsequent growing fears that it would have to close its doors because of declining membership sales, the board of directors of the National Press Club created the National Press Club Foundation to be able to receive charitable donations. The Foundation held a party on March 2 to “celebrate the Club’s 80-year history,” said Tim Kane, president of the NPC Foundation.
