The Commission for Africa was set up in the spring of 2004 to help accelerate progress towards a strong and prosperous Africa. It has just launched a consultation process on its work, which will feed into the report the 17 commissioners will make to the G8 meetings next year. UK Development Minister, Hilary Benn, who is Deputy Chair of the Commission, outlines the vision of the Commission as we approach 2005.
