Digvir Jayas

Digvir Jayas is the vice-president (research and international) at the University of Manitoba. He is a former Their 1 Canada Research Chair in stored-grain ecosystems. He has authored or co-authored more than 900 technical articles in scientific journals, conference proceedings, and books dealing with issues of storing, drying, handling and quality monitoring of grains. 

Government should take an integrated approach to ensure all four research pillars are funded appropriately

There are four pillars of research support and all four pillars must be supported appropriately to keep it in balance. If one aspect is not appropriately funded, research will not function well, just like one can manage to sit on a four-legged stool for a while if one of the legs is broken but it is increasing difficult to sustain for a long time, writes Digvir Jayas.
