Trio of Tory leadership candidates face off on Aug. 3 in Ottawa

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 3 House Not Sitting—The House will return on Sept. 19, sitting until Oct. 7. It will break for one week, Oct. 10-14, and will sit for three straight weeks, Oct. 17-Nov. 4. Conservative Leadership Debate—Conservative Party leadership candidates Roman Baber, Jean Charest, and MP Scott Aitchison will participate in the third and final official Conservative Leadership Debate. THURSDAY, AUG. 4 Why Russia's War in Ukraine Matters to Canada and the Indo-Pacific—The Macdonald-Laurier Institute hosts a webinar, "Why Russia's war in Ukraine matters to Canada and the Indo-Pacific." Experts will examine the growing challenge posed by shifting norms and increased authoritarian coercion following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as well as the role of China and its convergence with Russia, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. SATURDAY, AUG. 6 New Brunswick Liberal Leadership Convention—The New Brunswick Liberal Party will announce a new leader at the Fredericton Convention Centre on Aug. 6.
