Re: “The well-being of Canada’s children is lagging,” (The Hill Times online, Sept. 21). Establishing a national commissioner of children and youth would fulfill a 2015 Liberal campaign promise, and show the government’s commitment to its youngest citizens. It would also be a fitting way to mark the 25th anniversary of Canada’s ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
