Don't judge Prime Minister Martin by short-term standards

I spent four years from 1964 to 1967 in the closest daily contact and under great pressure as a professional civil servant assigned to Paul Martin Sr., as foreign minister. I knew the Martin family intimately. I had no domestic political responsibilities.

Prime Minister Paul Martin should not be assessed under short-term standards. The question I can answer is whether he is worthy. My credentials, and everyone should submit her or his to careful scrutiny, are based on close personal experience with Martin Sr., Martin Jr. and Lester B. Pearson for over 59 years.
