We need Senators with irrefutable character and the advisory committee will have to ensure that they take the time they need to get to know the real person, behind and beyond the surface of their CV.
With four years to go, which is a lifetime in politics, it will be the political staffers and not the prose found in the speech that will make the difference for Justin Trudeau.
To grow, the party will need more than a caretaker, someone who simply ensures that the wheels don’t fall off—they need to immediately show to Canadians that they are ready to address the verdict handed to them on Oct. 19.
