MPs on the upcoming and historic special electoral reform committee will hold town hall meetings in all 338 ridings across the country this summer as they look at ways to reform Canada's first-past-the-post electoral system. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Que.) promised to enact electoral reform legislation 18 months after forming government and wants the committee to look at a variety of reforms including ranked ballots, proportional representation, mandatory voting, and online voting. Electoral reform is a politically explosive issue.
