Newspaper owners should stay out of political endorsements: Therien

I was taken aback recently when I read The Ottawa Citizen’s endorsement calling for Stephen Harper and his Conservative Party’s re-election. So be it. It was the newspaper’s call and, at the end of the day, I did respect it. But then, I became aware that the endorsement was foisted upon the paper from management in Toronto. I found this to be very disturbing to the point that I considered cancelling my subscription. This call from above must have been of great concern to the paper’s editorial
