PARLIAMENT HILL—Nearly half of Canadian electors approve of Justin Trudeau’s election promise to scrap Conservative government plans to acquire a $45.7-billion fleet of 65 U.S. F-35 stealth attack planes, a new poll indicates.

To encourage more investment in green technology, the plan also pitches a $340-million 'green patent credit' aimed at prodding companies to spend more on research and develop their products for market.
