Cooperation/coalition/merger talks likely won't seem so unpalatable after next election

There is a tightening among the voters' options coming in the next campaign—likely within the year.

POWERS: Richard Fadden, head of CSIS, I have a confession for you. I am a proud supporter of a foreign government and an alien nation. Yes, I refer to the administration of my home state of Newfoundland and Labrador. I was trained and educated there. I was sent to Ottawa to extract as much as I could from Canada while pretending to seek comfort in her bosom. But Mr. Fadden there is something more insidious at play than my coercion on behalf of Newfoundland and Labrador. Sir, focus your agents on my colleagues Warren Kinsella and Brad Lavigne. The Calgary-born Liberal and the B.C.-bred socialist are the ones who are trying to alter our beloved mosaic.
