There were two notable events on Wednesday, however, one at the Château Laurier Hotel at lunchtime following the Remembrance Day ceremony, and the other that evening at Rideau Hall. The former gathering was the 22nd annual luncheon the hotel puts on for veterans and their families, while the latter was a black-tie soirée Governor General Michaëlle Jean hosted to celebrate the last night of their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall's visit to the colonies.
