Party Central rings in Obama inauguration at U.S. Embassy and then swings by NDP headquarters to some jubilant toasting Dippers

The U.S. Embassy luncheon was surprisingly short on familiar faces, but still managed to snatch Paul Dewar away from his NDP caucus.

We're not even to the end of January and already the word "historical" is in the running to become the most overused term of 2009. Even notoriously cynical Party Central can't help but admit that the inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama really does fit the bill, however, which made it particularly lame that more was done to mark the Throne Speech of Canada's shortest Parliament than for the swearing-in of the man who after only a few days on the job has already become Omar Khadr's guardian angel.
