The governing Conservatives are accusing the Liberals of using a private member's bill to create a wedge issue to win swing ridings in the next election and divide the country's Italian-Canadian community, but the Grits say they don't understand why the government won't officially apologize today for the government's internment of Italian Canadians during the Second World War.
