Libs unclear on running one-third female candidates in next election

Some Grit insiders say it's unlikely, others say Ignatieff will run more than one-third.

Grit insiders say the federal Liberals are unlikely to nominate one-third female candidates in the next election and that the new Liberal leader's main focus is finding winnable candidates rather than focusing on gender.

"I don't think [Mr. Ignatieff] is going to go that road," said one top Liberal who spoke to The Hill Times on condition of anonymity. "My understanding is [he's going to go] with the best candidate to win...
