They took heat from the opposition on maternal and child health and G8 and G20 summit spending, but donations kept rolling in to Conservative Party coffers this spring. The party received $4.1-million in contributions and transfers from April 1 to June 30, more than twice its nearest competitor, the Liberal Party, according to second-quarter party financial transaction returns released last week by Elections Canada.
