Federal infrastructure money not enough to meet wastewater regs: municipalities

According to Environment Canada, 150 million gallons of untreated and undertreated water are annually dumped into Canada’s waterways.

Some municipalities are worried about the administrative and financial burdens of federal wastewater regulations established in 2012 after the federal government failed to deliver funding to help get their operations up to speed.
