Government tables $252.5-billion in spending estimates, changes in store for how Parliament reviews spending

Supplementary estimates ‘c’ give 49 departments a final $1.5-billion for 2012-2013.

Government spending and Parliament: Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will release the federal government’s budget expected later this month. Treasury Board President Tony Clement. Conservative MP Mike Wallace worked on the House Government Operations Committee’s study of ways to make the government’s spending estimates more readable to ensure that Parliament does a better job of holding the government to account on spending.
