Next census gathering has begun, passed 'point of no return,' says new StatsCan chief
New Statistics Canada Chief Wayne Smith says it's unrealistic to expect it will gather equal data without the long-form mandatory census.
It's "logistically impossible" for the mandatory long-form census to be re-instated and sent to Canadians in 2011, no matter if the House adopts a private member's bill trying to restore the long-form census, says the new head of Statistics Canada Wayne Smith.
