Re: "A good day as any to mark failure of Canada's national child care," (The Hill Times, June 1, p. 15). I am a child care advocate for the National Family Childcare Association. Our group and the "fund the child" movement have been going 'head to head' with the national daycare advocates for about 30 years now. Our issue with their style of funding is the money only goes to the daycares and mostly the non-profit ones. We believe the parents should have full choice in child care and deserve the funding to go directly to the children then the parents can pick which child care they so choose for the individual child.
