The Hill Times' recent feature on the Parliamentary budget officer contained some errors, and I wish to correct the record. The article appeared to question whether or not the law intended for the PBO to directly report to the Speakers and the Parliamentary librarian. This appears to be clear to the PBO himself, Kevin Page, who testified in front of the House Public Accounts Committee that "I report to the Speakers of the House and the Senate and to (the Parliamentary librarian)." If it's clear to Mr. Page, then it should have been clear to everyone.
