Federal Liberal leadership contender Michael Ignatieff's prior writings on torture, Iraq, and Afghanistan conceded the foreign policy debate on the "War on Terror" to U.S. President George Bush. Ignatieff argued for war in Iraq, the use of torture, and voted for extending Canada's mission in Afghanistan. He spoke up on the recent Hezbollah-Israeli war in South Lebanon after the conflict was nearly over.
