Stephen Harper precipitated the upcoming election on the grounds that Paul Martin and the Liberal Party had lost "the moral authority to govern" in the wake of the sponsorship scandal. Is it possible that Stephen Harper is afraid of setting a standard of moral rectitude that, if elected, he might actually have to live up to?
