@Oemissions, Everett Coldwell win HT Quizzy Challenges

We’re not sure if storming into a church, criticizing the government through song and then getting arrested and jailed constitutes ‘playing nice between elections,’ but #HTQuizzyChallenge winner @Oemissions, who describes herself as a raging granny from Salt Spring Island, seems to think so.

The challenge two weeks ago asking for advice on how Parliamentarians could stop trying to kill each other did not generate a lot of interest. The one response that sparked some retweets was @Oemissions’ “4 MPs from each political party to perform Cdn version of Pussy Riots.” There is something to be said about bonding through some rock and roll, however. It could be interesting.

@Oemissions also participated in last week’s challenge, asking Tweeters and (readers) to write a photo caption of a meeting between Prime Minister Stephen Harper and newly-appointed Chief of Defence staff Tom Lawson. The tweet was “Of course Peter is just there for the PR everything else is between you and me,” playing on National Defence Minister Peter MacKay’s (lack of) relevance on the F-35 file.

A reader commented on The Hill Times website along the same lines. Everett Coldwell’s proposed photo caption: “Harper: Need your full support for F-35 purchase. Don't worry, we'll tell you exactly what to say. Lawson: Yes Sir, whatever you need. Harper: You're hired.”

Even though Mr. Coldwell didn’t tweet his answer, he’s this week’s winner on the photo caption contest.

Congrats to both @Oemissions and Mr. Coldwell.
