Conservative MP Leef to run 3,000 kilometres, perimeter of Yukon over three summers to raise awareness of diabetes in Canada’s North: the slacker

Conservative MP Ryan Leef says he’s hoping to inspire Canadians one kilometre at a time. The 38-year-old rookie Yukon MP and former RCMP conservation officer, who was first elected in last May’s general election, is a running fanatic. Also a mixed martial arts competitor and health buff, Mr. Leef plans to run the entire perimeter of the territory he represents in an effort to raise money and awareness about diabetes in Canada’s North.
