Gerecke overwhelmed by over-the-top response to his stolen van, wheelchair and camera; Bourrie releases new book on war reporting

Mr. Gerecke’s friends came out last week to give him an emotional and financial boost after the popular Ottawa photographer’s van, wheelchair, and camera equipment were all stolen. More than $10,000 was raised.
The local Parliament Hill community raised more than $10,000 for Ottawa freelance photographer Steve Gerecke last week after a van containing his photography equipment and wheelchair were stolen.
