MPs can fix Parliamentary democratic crisis, just do it
Many are jumping on the Parliamentary-democracy-is-in-a-crisis bandwagon this spring. So will we too. Readers should pick up the authoritative Peter H. Russell and Lorne Sossin's book, Parliamentary Democracy in Crisis, published by the University of Toronto in order to get a good refresher course on our Parliamentary system and the role of the governor general. "In the recent heated discussions of November and December 2008, most people and much of the media did not understand that we do not have a presidential system in Canada. We do not vote for a Prime Minister."
