Democratic Renewal Minister Belinda Stronach told reporters on May 19 in a scrum that she would not have taken a Cabinet position in the Liberal government if she had not been given responsibility over democratic renewal, as it's now called, in addition to being handed one of the largest departments in government, Human Resources and Skills Development.
