One good thing about minority government is it keeps giving us opportunities to learn how our Parliamentary system really works. In 2008, we learned a bit about the empty promise of fixed-date elections, the formation of a coalition government, prorogation and the power of the Governor General as our effective head of state (the Queen being the nominal head of state).
